The Horseshoe
In 1861 a family named Colliers had a Smithy (Blacksmiths ) on this site
and started to sell Beer in 1881 when it is mentioned as a beer shop and smiths thus meaning for over 130 years it has been a licensed premesis and probably gives the reason for the pub name .Miss Hannah Collier took over in 1923 and it was during this time that Beer was also brewed on site Giving the pub the local nickname of "The Home Brew" It remainded privately owened till 1944 When Frederic Robinson Ltd bought the pub and it still remains part of the Robinsons estate.
